I was curious about part of the forest, and needed a higher vantage point to get a better view.

[The camera shifts and turns as she holds the SFC out away from her. Eventually the distinct shape of the lighthouse can been seen in the distance once the frame finally comes into focus. A couple seconds later the viewpoint shifts back to her face.]

[The view for the next thirty seconds or so will be of darkness and teeth as the SFC is placed in her mouth. Small grunts of physical exertion can be heard from her as well, as she makes her way down the tree. It is a fine test for her acrobatic ability. Safely deposited back on the soil of the island, Disciples face once again fully appears on the screen, behind her the forest can be seen from ground level.]

[Out of caution, he leaves his SFC back in his hive before he sets off. With his penchant for STRONG jumps across the island, he arrives there quick enough and starts to set up the pile. When Disciple arrives, he's still fiddling with it a bit. The core of it is made up of solid bits of scrap metal, and it's covered in a very very thick layer of cat plushes.]

[To minimize the fact that there's metal beneath, you see.]

[Judging from the distance she had come in the video, Disciple had made fairly great time on her way to the lighthouse. The oliveblood will walk straight towards her moirail, and scoops her arms around him as best she can in a hug.]

[The rubbing causes the oliveblood to melt against him. Congratulations Darkleer, you are now the proud owner a Disciple puddle. She tries to find words through his ministrations, with arguable levels of success.]

[Finally given free reign to think straight, Disciple follows closely after him, joining him on the pile. Her head comes to rest somewhere near his chest, as she lies next to him.]

The locals? No. I have sort of been making a habit of avoiding them as best I can. They unnerve me a little bit...

Well, the Station Master approached me not too long ago. He claimed to have an idea of how to repair the barrier... but he wants everyone interested to meet in a small building.

Oh? Do you feel you can trust him? I mean, he is part of this world, is he not?

He is, and the others who have shown individuality here have not shown themselves to have our best interests at heart. I'm not sure if we can trust him, but I don't think I can avoid this kind of thing.

I was hoping you would come with me, just in case.

Sure, I can be there for you. If he tries anything funny he will be the test for those claws you made for me.

[She makes a show of stretching her arms and flexing her own natural claw-tipped fingers.]

Hopefully he is on the level. I would like to think someone here would care about the people getting stolen away to the underwater city.

It would be nice, but I'm not particularly optimistic. It would be a pleasant surprise to be proven wrong.

How have you been adjusting to the island, then? Well enough to be scaling trees, it seems.

[The shift of topic does not entirely serve to distract her. As one of her current biggest fears is possibly coming true; Having to go home.]

I do what I can to know the lay of the forest. I have not been completely without worry, or sorrow though. I will not lie and say that the loss of that hive and even that city has caused me distress. All the memories forged in that place. Now there is the chance that with the coral weakening we might have to... leave.

I know you will, Gizmo. That is why I view your capability to be stubborn as a wonderful thing. You never give up if it is something that you care about. It is reassuring to know that I am one of those things.

It is just hard, especially with everything that has been happening, to not feel an air of finality to everything.

If we should fail in our attempts to stay, I am at least thankful that I got a chance to finally meet you, and grow close to you. These last months have been some of the best in my life, and I really mean that.
