You do not need to apologize. I am well versed in putting off awkward conversations. In fact I am doing that right now, in a way.

I am just glad you brought it up to me. It is much better I find it out this way then some other, more complicated, 'worst-case-scenario' sort of way. It means a lot that you did come to me.

[A small pause.]

I have made quite a successful game out of not seeing that monster. Any little scent or sign and I head the other way. With most of the other threats in Vatheon I might be able to kid myself into thinking I could take them in a fight, If I was careful and relied on what I learned in the wilds, but not him. There is no way. So I avoid him at all costs.

[She shudders to herself, just thinking of him. The horror stories she has heard were enough to make her wilt.]

Honestly, I think it's for the better. None of the children should have to deal with him, and more than a few of us should not either. In my case, I doubt there's much I can do to avoid him-

[Ex boss, complicated issues, dating his matesprit... Yeah.]

But that isn't the same for you. He's a wretch who does nothing but ruin the day of others. I am quite thankful that there's been a method of keeping him under control.

Lysunder says this place is essentially torture for him, which... Good. It is still far more then he deserves. I will continue to avoid him as long as possible, as it has been working.

Whatever this method of control is, I pray it is strong enough to keep him pacified. I shudder to think what would happen if that monster were turned loose in the bubble.

[But thinking those sort of thoughts is bad. It'll just end up with him trying to tear open his body with a scalpel again. Or pailing him, which is worse.]

You could speak to the Vantas boy about such things. He was the one who came up with the idea, I am relatively certain.

Karkat? Maybe I will. It has been a little while since I have spoken with him in person, not since that last picnic months ago.

[Yes, pailing the horrible monster is bad. This is a good lesson. Disciple is on the fence about tearing his body open with a scalpel. She has not even seen the GHB in Vatheon, but she knew enough to hate him entirely; Platonically. Shudder.]

Flatterer. I will not need to take much of his time, maybe another picnic, then? If he is so busy it might be good for him to have a break so I can feed him sweets, and see how he is doing.

[She does some pretty bad things when she is freaked, she just was lucky it was Kanaya who was the last to see her out of her mind with anger. If it were Karkat, she shudders to think of what would have happened.]
