[Always the bearer of bad news, as he slips out of the hotel room to go to the front desk, Darkleer also takes out his SFC. There's one last person he needs to call. The one he has, admittedly, wanted to put off.]

[But he owes her this.]

[The curse having been lifted, she was back in her body. Like she spent a lot of her time lately, she was reading. The call of her SFC pulls her from the pages of the human adventure novel in her hands.]

Oh, Hello Darkleer. How are you doing?

[A wreck, tired, done with everything, repairing the broken husk that used to be-.]

...adequate. Are you busy right now?

I was reading, nothing really important.

[Disciple wasn't really sure what to think of Darkleer calling her out of the blue. Ususally they would just meet up somewhere public and struggle to speak to one another. It has Been getting a little better, but not to the point of calling each other to talk.]

[Which means something as come up.]

There is a hotel- the Rose Coral Hotel. Can you meet me there, at the lobby?

[Hesitation from Disciple, but she was starting to pick up on the anxiety present.]

Is... everything okay, Darkleer?

[Regardless of the answer, she is already on her way there, taking whatever shortcuts she knows on the way.]

[When she arrives, he'll be at the front desk, discussing things with in a hushed, hurried tone to the woman there.]

[The more she hears, the more on edge she gets, just what in the hells was going on?]

[Thanks to her continued conditioning up the island, she was still in pretty good shape. Not quite as peak physical form as when she was in the wilds, but fairly close. So she arrives swiftly, and to her credit not really breathing hard. She makes her way past a couple of the locals, finding her way into the lobby, her eyes scanning for Darkleer. She catches sight of him near the front desk and makes her way over.]

I am here, what is happening?

[She gives a questioning look around the hotel. Why here of all places?]

[Hearing her voice, he quickly finishes things up with the front desk and turns to her. His hands go to her shoulders on instinct, not wanting he rto run off like last time.]

Promise me that you will not panic. Promise that you will not let your temper become loose.

[Being grabbed by the shoulders catches her off-guard, and his words even more so. Just what had happened? Worrying about her panicing, and her Temper? Her mind races to think of what could have happened. First thought if those were his worries was that someone was hurt, but who was close enough to her that would worry Darkleer... Nepeta!]

Promise... what? Darkleer did someone hurt Nepeta?

[Nepeta? He shakes his head.]

No, no, Nepeta is fine, last I had heard. Promise me before I tell you anymore.

[Not Nepeta. It was a small breath of relief, but she was just left with more questions. This situation was getting stranger by the second.]

Fine... fine. Ill try to maintain myself, though you really are starting to worry me. What happened?

[No more holding it off. He needs to tell her.]

Your... Your matesprit is back. Signless. But he's not in good condition. This place brought him back... at his death.

[As soon as the word Signless leaves his lips, she tenses under his hands, but does her best to remember the promise she just made. And to her credit, she only panics a little.]

[But then the rest of what he said sinks in. So the Scientists brought him back as he was dying, That Night. She knew the pain he went through, the Torture wrought upon him by the close-minded nook-for-brains highbl... Disciple realized she was getting angry at this point, visibly shutting her eyes and taking a series of deep breaths to help center herself as best she could.]

[The pain of that night is something she has done her best to deal with over the sweeps. It is a pain that the Signless of before had not felt. If he was taken from the final moments though...]

He... Where!?

[He wishes he could help her somehow, but he doesn't know what. All he can do is hold her shoulders, and watch her with a worried look.]

He's in a room, I'm getting things to help stabilize him. His hands- you know what happened to his hands. Dualscar and Summoner are with him.

[He had not been gone too long, but she still imagined the day he returned to be one of joy... not horror. The scientists chose That night to take him from?]

His hands...yes...

[She remembered the glowing hot shackles, the burning of his hands and arms as he was strung up. The loosing of a nocked arrow. Disciple shakes her head, clearing away the memories, just in time to hear the name.]

[These Nights if a name was to fill her with anxiety like Darkleer's used to, it would be Dualscar. He inspired some of the darkest feelings she was capable of. Especially after the last encounter at the library, she was extremely wary of him. Now he was here, with Signless. Her Signless. Her wonderful, beautiful, Nubby... Her brain was firing in many directions at once.]

They... he... why?

[She was noticibly shaking under his hands, but was not making any attempt to break from his grasp.]

Quiet, hush, quiet, quiet-

[Hesitantly, he begins to stroke her shoulder, her arm, not knowing how else he can be reassuring.]

Everything is alright, everything will be alright. I had to call Summoner, he's good with others, especially... how he reacted to me. And Dualscar is his moirail, was, and I think he remembers...

[She wanted to yank free of him and find Nubby, but she told Darkleer she would contain herself, and so she would try her best. The fact that Dualscar of all trolls was in there while she was not was sparking a bit of her ire, but she was doing her best to keep it under control... Which was marginal at best.]

I need to see him, Darkleer. If nothing else... I have already been through what he has. He needs me.

[To her credit she sounded like she was half-hysterical.]

[He doubts he does, not completely, but still.]

I need to set things up for him, things to help him recuperate while he is in this condition. They're coming, I want to clean him up before you have to see him. It isn't... good.

[Disciple could tell she was getting manic, a condition that she knew could become much worse of left unchecked. There is a sharp stab of pain as she bites her lip, she needed something to focus on. A couple seconds pass with her saying nothing, forcibly trying to contain herself.]

Darkleer... I know... I know what he must be like. I have seen him like this before; Once.

It is something that has haunted my dreams...

[...Well, what can he say to that? She has a point. Darkleer ducks his head for a moment.]

I know. I will do my best. Let me tell Summoner you are coming, alright? Signless... can't be hassled too much. He was just coming to by the time I left. I need to know his condition.

[With his words she feels a small amount of her anxiety melts away. He was going to be in bad condition, she remembered... but Signless was back, and that is what was important.]

[Before she lets him go talk to Summoner, she presses forward giving him a quick hug.]
